Chicago spots for wedding and engagement photos
There's so much to show in and around the city of Chicago.
The photography can be hard to figure out when choosing a location for your engagement or wedding shoot. Here is a list of places to consider along with information to make a decision that fits what your looking for.
A classic location for the city of Chicago. This location provides a view from any angles including the skyline of the city. You can enjoy the water works from the May through mid-October. This fountain also has a beautiful color display for evening hours.
The Milton Lee Olive Park
Kind of hidden gem to the public, but well know to photographers. This location provides another scenic view of the city's skyline with a platform above the lake. Next door to the famous Navy Pier.
Making it's own path towards the lake is the River Walk. This long and scenic route has much to offer from the historic monuments you see around town. Miles of river and interesting architecture is great for photos.
Bridge over South Pond
When you're in the Lincoln Park area is area could be easy to miss. It's not too far from farm in the zoo. Parking maybe a hassle, but if you're being dropped off it's an easy walk for a skyline view
South Pond Pavilion
Sometimes people call this location the honeycomb. What ever the case, it's definitely an interesting spot to photograph. So much, you may encounter a line of people from other wedding parties or engagements to take an image with this in the background.
North Ave Beach
An awesome spot to get another vantage point of Chicago's architecture. The beach will have spectators, but if you walk further down to photography point, you can clear out the background of people and just get the city.
Going beyond the city onto the suburbs, Lilacia Park in Lombard is location with great potential for photos. Spring and summer months give a nice backdrop.
Another riverwalk to soak in for the view and the activity is in the center of Naperville. You'll fine it it's tranquil setting great for a romantic scene. The bridge that go over also gives character.
The Morton Arboretum
The trip here makes all the season worth wild. Its a huge place, so bring your walking shoes, but plenty of places to enjoy.
Garfield Park Conservatory
The outdoors can't always cooperate, so this spot is as good as a plan B as a plan A. Plenty of beautiful greenery, warmth, even a waterfall, all inside at anytime of the year. You will have to apply for a permit to take photos at this location. Regardless of any inconvenience this may apply to you, it's well worth its weight in gold.
